Kindle Touch. Circa 2011. This thing doesn't even have illumination.

Mine has a little joystick. No touch screen.

None of my books compare to TheDude's.
I have or rather had, a 2nd or 3rd edition Hunt for the Red October, from when it was originally published by the Naval Institute.
But that only put's it in the 80s.

Only old book I have now, I used to have quite a few. The old guy who originally owned my house was a bit of a pack rat, and there was still a large cabinet full of books in the garage. When it was time to turn the garage into a living room, they had to go. Sold them on here, can't remember to whom. Might still have some pictures somewhere to put up. Thought it was interesting that cockfighting had official published rules

Published by the Naval institute...As in required reading?? Cool.

    Not Annapolis.
    U.S. Naval Institute

Publishing company of mostly naval related literature, but not associated with the navy.
It's hard to get the attention of a big publisher, Tom Clancy got USNI to publish the first 3 printings (I think), before there was such a demand that USNI couldn't keep up, and it went to a different publisher.

I used to be a member, got the magazine. Bought a butt load of books. Wanted to know a bit more than required to do the job, and you can go through A LOT of books on a deployment.
