    I have a question:

I live on the Indiana/Kentucky border, as such, I shoot in both states regularly. I know I need a 5320.20 from the ATF to transport interstate but does anyone know if I can request large periods of time (6-12 months) so I can go between states at my leisure when I want to shoot at ranges in KY?

    Any advice is appreciated!
    Thanks

I am not a lawyer! That said, having recently set up a NFA trust, I was advised to fill out a ATF Form 20 for this purpose. ATF gets kind of twitchy when you move a NFA item around. The maximum duration of the Form 20 is one year, then you must submit a new form. I don't know how long the approval process takes. Also keep a copy of the approved form with the NFA item at all times. One last thing: It must be legal where you are transporting it to.
