Hi all - I would like your opinions. I can get a new in box unfired stainless smith model 60 in 357 for $425
This is a 5 shot gun and unfortunately it has the stupid Clinton lock which I hate. I swore never to buy a smith with a lock but maybe $425 is a deal I should not pass up. :dunno:

That's a very good price on a NIB 60. In fact, it's a good price on a used model 60. The lock is dreadful, but can easily be ignored or otherwise "fixed."

Shooting some full house 357 rounds out of a j-frame will change your world:)

@ Steel Core- I'm not for sure the exact time they started chambering the 60s in 357, but it might have occurred when they started making the "Ladysmith."

It's an absolutely awful deal, please tell us right away who's offering it so we can chastise him or her appropriately (and offer him or her 430). Seriously, jump on it - that's a very good price.

My mdl 60 S&W is .38 spcl, my mdl 66 a .357, when did Smith make a mdl change?

The model 60 was introduced in 1965 as a 38. In 1996 they started making 357 but they still amke 38. So I believe you can get them in either caliber now.
