I saw a reference to archery but, as I've learned on several hunting forums, that word seems very much open to interpretation.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Have you been to the club? The 'archery range' is really just a couple straw bales in a clearing. It works, but it's definitely not the focus of the club.
Thanks. No, I haven't been. I plan on mostly shooting firearms. I hope to tag a deer during archery season this year so I want to get the basics of crossbow shooting down. As long as there is a safe area to shoot that's fine by me.

Insofar as I can tell a couple straw bales in a clearing beats anything else I can find in the greater Indianapolis area for crossbow practice.

    Thanks again.

Depending on your crossbow those bales probably won't stop your bolts. WE ought to look into that as a club btw. Those bales have been there for a while and last time I shot my compound into them my arrows went nearly through. I would suggest bringing a crossbow specific target if you plan on shooting there. Just my:twocents:

BTW I just couldn't bring myself to give out negative rep upthread as much as I wanted to.....

Thanks for the heads up John. I'm new to crossbows but I gather such targets aren't too expensive.
