Just picked up an Izzy M38 rifle. Dated 1943 with all matching serial numbers and sling. Traded an M44 for it. Never did like shooting the M44. In order to get the proper point of impact, I had to extend the bayonet. M38 is lighter and better balanced. Going to take it out on Friday morning to Elwood CC and sight it in. I wimped out and got a slip-on rubber recoil pad, to keep from knocking my teeth loose.
