Are predators likely to use dried up drainage areas to travel in?

I have been clearing brush etc in an effort to limit unwanted visitors I wondering if I should put a cattle panel across it to discourage easy passage?

    Thanks

All sorts of animals will use culverts, the problem with keeping them out, is that a coyote for instance will be able to get through anything it can fit its head through. Any type of small opening, grating will get clogged with sticks and other debris when the drainage area goes into use, thereby causing flooding.
