From the second page of the .pdf it appears the only differences are:

Barrel rifling: CM is conventional and PM is polygonal
Marking process: CM is simple engraving and PM is rolled.
Front site: CM is pinned polymer and PM is drift adjustable
Slide stop lever: CM is metal injection molded and PM is machined.

Other than those items, they are exactly the same.

I wouldn't think much for close quarters protection. None of the items matter an additional $200 for my purposes. Chevy vs. Cadillac type of thing if you ask me...

Anyone else feel free to chime in for a major positive for polygonal rifling. It's not my area of expertise. ;)

Polygonal: A TOUCH more speed for shorter barrels. At least in Glocks, 3.5" acts like a 4, 4.5 acts like a 5. But if the marginal bit more velocity is an issue, train harder or get a better caliber! :D Easier to clean? Makes it more Glock-like (explosive? :D )?

    Couldn't resist... :D

Should be a great piece. My wife's CW9 uses the same cost-saving measures, but has performed flawlessly -- even during the 200-round breaking that Kahr requires. No malfs yet; very accurate (certainly well beyond her abilities or mine), and that lovely glassy-smooth Kahr trigger that shames about any other double-action.

If I decide to go for a premium pocket pistol in 9mm, instead of a mid-range one like the LCP in .380, I don't think the CM9 is going to have any competition for my hard-earned dollars....

Just for reference. I did an instant quote for the dealers in my area. It was showing a range of price from $420-$470 plus "other charges" and tax.

After comparing the CM9 and the PM9, I think Kahr has just killed the more expensive PM9 because I agree, in CQ the different barrel won't make much of a difference if any to the attacker!

apples to apples. Only thing I think about is is saving a couple hundred bucks worth my or my family's lives. In this case some of the upgrades aren't what I would call life saving but who am I to decide what you need.

    So... CM9 vs Kimber Solo?

I certainly like the expected price range of the CM9 more... leaves me more to spend on extras (spare mags, holster, ammo, etc).

According to post on Kahrtalk.com Bud's had these in stock earlier today. They were selling for $417.

That's the kind of pricing we're talking about! :yesway:
