Hey guys, does anyone use or have used a KNS Precision Crosshair Front Sight found at ARR-352 - AR-15 Hooded Duplex Crosshair Front Sight KNS Precision Fits AR-15 M16 and AR-10, and many other websites. I was just wondering about the durability of these sight posts, I have read many positive reviews of the sight being very accurate and great at longer ranges. But I question the durability of those tiny little cross hairs. Also about the usefulness of the cross hair at close ranges(less than 75 yards) So, do you like it? Why? Do you not like it, Why? Thank you!

i was going to buy one. i hate how wide the front site post is. i decided to take the original post off and grind it to a point (i figured if it didnt work i was out nothing.) it worked fine. i even dipped it in orange marking paint to make it pick up better.

its not the prettiest thing in the world but it works great. i grinded more off on one side so the post kind of tappers but its sighted in to the taper

The funny thing is, the width of the front sight is its biggest strength. A wider front sight is better for long range accuracy.

A wide front sight is easier to focus on, and for precision shots you sight your gun in to a "corner" of the sight.

    An old Highpower trick.

    Something to think about.

my step dad put one of those on his AR and he loves it. it does work pretty well at 200yds. He doesn't beat up his rifles though so i cant say anything about durability.

with my sight i can take a precision aim every time and its bright orange so its pretty easy to pickup.

to each his own i guess
