Towards the end of WWII, Korium started making these for mail order sales in the United States. They were made up until 1950 in Germany, then Korium decided to start manufacturing them in Japan up until the mid 1950's or when the company closed. The German models were forged Solingen steel and the Japan models were cast steel .....a big difference in quality. There were four different models, the claw & ball, the eagle head, the deer hoof, and the fourth model escapes me right now (sucks getting old). :) There were literally thousands and thousands, if not millions of these made, and they are very easy to find. They don't bring much money. Usually you can find one in good condition for around $25.00 to $45.00.
