Yep, I built another one. I'll get it right yet
This one has custom bolt handle,flash hider and pistol grip. 18" barrel with 11 degree crown,ATI scope mount,3x-9x-40mm bushnell scope. Marbles front sight ramp with Williams front sight. I haven't shot it yet but the pistol grip just feels right. I also made a slightly different pistol grip with about 8 degrees more angle towards the back of the rifle, that one will have to wait for the next rifle.

That looks great! Can you still use the iron sights with the scope mounted? How will the lack of the bayonet effect the accuracy or are the mods done taking care of that? I bet you can wait to shoot it, and believe me I understand that one. I hope it is not raining Saturday.

Nope, you can't use the iron sights with the scope mounted. I just put the front sight on, in case I ever decide to take the scope off. Just covering all possibilities.
The bolt handle is bolted on with 2 hardened 8-32 cap head screws. The old handle was sawed off and a .060 deep slot was cut and the bolt body was drilled and tapped.

Your right..I have 3 that I haven't shot since I modified them.
16 1/2" barreled one with an ATI stock...no scope.
18" barreled one pictured
And a 20 inch barreled one with a 6x-24x-44mm scope

I think the weather will be pretty good...I am wondering how much mud I would have to walk through to get to the targets?

Pretty cool build! I've always wondered if you could fit a pistol grip on one of these things.
