Picked up a M&P 45c yesterday. Now just have to get some range time and send off my military mail in rebate.

Anyone recommend ammo for practice and defense, for this particular gun.

Great Gun congrats. However I cannot speak for that particular model. I have 2 Shields 9 and 40. So far it has thrown everything ive put through them. Freedom Munition reloads as well as some federal. Defense I would recommend Hornady Critical defense

Speer Gold Dot or Federal for defensive. For plinking, I'd pretty much just put anything through it that will feed and is readily available.

FYI, that S&W rebate didn't take me too long. Somehow I managed to get two rebates for two M&P15 rifles to go through.
I want to say about a month turn around time though. I think it has to be sent by July 16, so get to it!

MidwayUsa.com is not only the largest, but the fairest priced retailer. They've never raised their prices more than a few dollars, not even on ammo. Check this out, they even have some in stock at last year's prices:

    45 ACP | Handgun Ammo | Ammo

Maybe I should clarify that for target ammo, I always buy the cheapest brass based, non-reloaded ammo on the market, and lean toward Federal when applicable. I avoid Remington brand ammo as much as possible, especially UMC.

I recommend any ammo you can find for practice and self defense.
Seriously though , whinchester white box, blazer, federal, tula, wolf all good for plinkin, for defense i like Critical Defense from Hornady.

All good ammo. What about for accuracy though, I have some Winchester and mag tech for plinking but has anyone found anything to be surprisingly accurate in this platform.

My M&P45 seemed to like everything from 200 grain on up in and shape and brand. The few 185 grain I shot it was so-so on feeding them but mine is a much older full-size.

Congrats on the new piece! Let us know how she shoots!
