i just aquired this gun recently not knowing anything about it and
getting ready to clean it i noticed that the trigger has no resistance
like there is a spring missing.
i asked the guy i traded it for and he said he never noticed it not knowing a bunch should i tear it down via youtube reference or just leave it?

In most marlin's you will cock it back and if there isn't a snap as you pull the trigger back then I suggest you take it to a smith and have it looked over.
Marlin's have a solid break in the trigger when it allows the hammer to fall.
If its not cocked then you have some play.

I have a Marlin 336 in 30-30 and I am also a big fan. Got mine set up in a "cowboy tactical" style and it never fails to impress my friend even more than my AR set up.

I would love to score one in .357 so I too could hunt with it.

I have the 30-30, 336, post Remington and I can't really see it being any better Pre Remington, shoots straight and looks great.

I have an older Marlin 30-30, Model 30AS - just about the same rifle as the 336 - I really like it. Also have a Lever action Winchester Model 88 in .308. Great rifle!
