So last year I began treatment for a back problem with a chiropractor. It was covered 100% by the VA.
I haven't needed any treatment since mid December. However, my back is starting to now need treatment again. The VA is willing to cover it again but at the beginning of the year they started doing chiropractic treatment at the VA.
Had I started there I would have NO problem with this. Since I did not start there I want to continue using the chiropractor they originally sent me to. For medical treatment I don't like switching up. I want a practitioner who has dealt with me from the beginning and understands my issues, someone with whom I have had multiple discussions and is intuitively familiar with my needs and concerns.
So my simple question is: do I have any legal rights under state or federal law to demand a continuity of care with the original provider? Obviously if that chiropractor is no longer on their list of providers that is another story, but presuming he is I'd at least like to know what my legal rights are, if any exist at all.
