Nice litter! Looking specifically at the M44, I didn't know they made any Hex receivers as late as 1944. I wonder, could it have been assembled out of odd parts?

Very nice, Miller Tyme!:yesway::yesway: Any idea on when the receivers were made on the hexs? After the 44 Izhevsks, gonna do 44 M39s?

Tula seemed to reuse a lot of early receivers later in the war. I've got a Tula 91/30 with the 1944 barrel date built on a 1938 dated Izhevsk receiver.

Thanks everyone, collecting Mosin's started out as a " I need one for my collection" and quickly developed in to a labor of love.

Both the Tula and Izhevsk arsenals recycled recievers over the years with a large number of recycled recievers being used in the early 20's as well as from 1942-45. But the hex recievers stand out the most on the late model MN's since all hex reciever production stopped in 1935 at Izhevsk, and 1936 at Tula

You gonna look for a 1943 M44? That'd be a nice feather in your cap, so to speak.

Been on the look out for a nice 43 Izhevsk M44 since it is the 1st year of production as well as a 48, the last year of production. I found a 1953 Romanian M44 that was the 23rd Romanian produced M44 back in November and added it to my collection.

Here is a link to an article on Mosin Nagant M-44's which lead to the conclusion this was the 23rd M44 the Romanians produced.
