Is there anybody out there that can provide me with a bolt bending service that is reasonably priced/ or that would like to trade a mosin for a small handgun?

If I'm not mistaken, you can't "bend" the stock bolt, you have to cut it off, grind it flat and weld / drill-tap-screw- a turned bolt onto your carrier. Or buy a replacement carrier that has the previous modifications done.

Could go the "scout" scope route and replace the rear sight with something like this:

MOSIN NAGANT M44 M91/30 M39 M38 RIFLE SCOPE RAIL MOUNT | eBay

then use a very long eye relief scope.

I think I will go with this idea as I don't really want to do the work myself but when I get the money depending on the look I will send pics back.

I have a bent original MN bolt body that would work with any MN rifle . It came from a bubba sporter MN rifle that I got mixed in with a trade of some guns with a friend of mine . I restored the MN so I do not need the bolt if you are interested PM me.

Also on the Mosin Nagant Gunboard forums there is a sponcer who goes by the name "The Bolt Man " who does a great job of converting a MN bolt .

not a cost efficient for the price of the MN, it will cost about 100 just for the bolt and weld plus shipping, will be cheaper to find one already done.
