I found 6-8 mushrooms under some trees in my front yard yesterday. First time I've found any there... What do you think-- If I leave them alone, will they "go to seed" and produce more next year? Or do you think this is kind of a one shot deal?

Pick 'em. No guarantee they'll come back next year, even if they spore.

I would recommend washing them after you pick them, then pouring the water you washed 'em in under the tree from whence they came. :twocents:

Go ahead and pick them. They start dropping spores as soon they fruit out. Whether you find them next year or not depends on weather conditions and the host it feeds on. Great advice on putting the rinse water to use.
