Yes, I don't know much about 'shrooms but they looked like oysters sticking out of a dead tulip poplar stump yesterday! They smelled tasty but I like my liver just the way it is so no experimentation was done.

This was the first year ive heard of people eating them. My buddy and his family have started collecting them and have enjoyed several meals with them. They havent gotten sick or hallucinated yet but iam still a little weary.

Oyster mushroom/Hickory jacks are delicious. They have a kinda meaty flavor. They usually grow in big clumps on the side of dead/dying trees, never on the ground. Anytime there's a big warm up in the winter I go looking for them. As with any mushroom, if you are not willing to bet your life that you know what kind it is, don't eat it.

I found some oyster mushroom just today. I also quite a few boletes of variations I don't know anything about.

The dandelions seem to think it is spring as well.

I have also had dandelions in the back 40.
