Need expert help (CPM s30v)

Currently considering buying a folder but trying to make a decision on the metal. I could use some feed back some someone who as tried and tested knives of various metals. Specifically interested in sharpness, ability to hold edge, and ductility. The metals im considering are CPM S30V, VG-10, and a high moly stainless.

cmp s30v is a great steel. so is vg10. both hold a good edge, are fairly easy to sharpen and very stain resistant. either will serve you well.

I like S30V the most personally. What will be the main uses for this knife.

Both are great choices for a user knife. Both are a bit hard for SOME to sharpen. Both are considered premium steels and will be priced accordingly.

This will be mainly a knife to carry with me. Im considering a spyderco military black.

That is a great choice for an all around, general use folder.

I've got some pretty high end knives, and my Military in S30V is still one of my favorites. Fantastic blade profile & grind, and very comfortable in hand.
