    Hey INGO,

So all of my hunting knives where stolen a couple weeks ago.

Im looking for replacements for my BK2 and my half breed skinner.

Nate doesnt have a website and I havent tried to contact him but would LOVE another one....1095 and flame maple? How does on get a hold of this man?

My BK2 was OK...but a little on the thick and heavy side of things.

I just bought a new bow and money is tight so keeping each of these knives under $100 is ideal. I need them for field dressing and skinning as well as doubling for EDC if I choose.

Id prefer carbon steel, stainless is OK but has never kept an edge like I would like.

Was looking on etsy for some handmade stuff but I hate buying sight unseen.

    Requirements:
    5" or less blade length
high carbon steel prefered...1084-1095?...no experience with other steels.

    God bless

I have a Silver Stag skinner type knife. It has an elk handle, and it is beautiful. They are around $99 dollars.

They have other types... Fillet, Bowie, paring, etc.e

Check out some of the offerings from helle. They are made from triple laminated stainless, and mine seems to hold an edge really well. I believe the model I have is the safari, which was discontinued, but looks a lot like their current gt model. They may be a bit over your $100 price range though. Good luck in your search. I find half of the fun is researching for the purchase.

My best knife is a mini KaBar. It's a good solid knife, but with a more manageable size for day to day use. I picked mine up for $60.
