New to shotguns: new haven 600at

Hey ya'll i am sorta new to the world of firearms. I have been wanting to get in the hunting game for years now and finally purchased a 12 gauge. Its a new haven 600AT with tapsco 2.5x20 scope mounted to it. Bbought it used at cabela's in highland in the region for 170.00. DOn'( know much about them or shotguns in general. can you guys tell me if i got a good deal and what i need to get ready for deer season?

Basically it's a Mossberg, $170, pretty good price! Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, if you know some one who has a Mossberg 500, see if the barrel will fit it.

For $170, I would say you did alright.

What barrel is on it? Rifled?

It has a smooth bore 24" barrel. The furniture is pretty nice. I wish there was a way i could find out how old it is.
