Just heard about this on the radio.

"They" have genetically engineered some male mosquitos to be sterile. So, when they mate with female mosquitos, the eggs don't hatch.

Initially data shows an 80% reduction in mosquitos.

Sounds like a hell of an idea to me.

Only down side is that they have to continually release these sterile mosquitos.

Is it true that only the female mosquito bites? I vaguely recall reading that years ago.

    From the article:

This method is considered a safer alternative to insecticides because male mosquitoes don't bite or spread disease, and only mate with females of the same species.

I answered my own question, nothing like reading the article itself.

Great, genetically engineering blood sucking, disease transmitting creatures... nothing could possibly go wrong with that could it?

If I was ever to believe in real life zombies, I imagine this is how they would be originated.

avon's skin so soft works great to repel them. also smoke bombs work if you stand in the smoke for a second or two they will not like to bite you.
Ive always heard that, and it has NEVER worked for me... I think the deer flys and mosquitoes in my area view SkinSoSoft as an appetizer...:xmad:
