The Reese family, (gun dealers from New Mexico who got caught up in the governments failed Fast and Furious operation), are going to be granted a new trial and hopefully finally be released from imprisonment. The prosecution has been abominable in trying to scapegoat this family and draw attention away from their culpability. The Resse's did what most gun dealers would do and sold their products using the system set up by the government. These good folks don't belong in jail. The AG, his flunkies and his boss do.

Still waiting for ANYONE responsible for F&F to be held accountable. Should I keep holding my breath?

UPDATE: The defence has asked for the remaining charges to be dropped. With prejudice. Here's hoping that the defence succeeds and these poor people get their lives (and property) back. Not sure they'd ever like to reopen their store, given how shabbily the BATFU and DoJ have treated them. They'll have targets on their backs for the rest of their lives. Sad thing is that the lamestream media hasn't bothered to cover this story. David Codrea has, tho.

Well, the Reese family debacle is still ongoing. At least the judge in the new trial is being fair and slapping the prosecution down when they get out of line. They're still trying to railroad the Reese's but it's not looking like it's going to work.

Hopefully the court will also force the government to release their some of their assets so they can continue to mount their defence. Robbing people and denying them access to their money so they can defend themselves adequately is par for the course with the government these days. They learned it from their drug war and have applied it everywhere they can. Stealing is wrong, doesn't matter who does it.

So what are they being accused of? They legally sold the guns to the ATF who then illegally sold them to the Mexicans, right?

Well, the judge has made new rulings. The Reese's cannot have access to their money and assets, so they're stuck relying on the kindness of strangers to pay for their upkeep and legal expenses while the government continues to persecute them for not being telepathic. The judge also refused to dismiss the BS charges against them, so the case will continue to go on till the government runs them into the ground. This is a travesty and the judge should be ashamed.
