Well let me ask this. What happens if they DON'T get the votes they need? Does it just sit around until at some point down the road they have a big enough majority of gun haters in the Senate, and then the Senate just trots it out and approves it in the middle of the night? Not having the votes NOW doesn't mean they won't have them at some point in the future.

IIRC, yes. Once POTUS has signed said Treaty, the Senate can Ratify at any point in time (regardless of failed Ratification votes), unless and until POTUS has Abrogated said Treaty. (POTUS being an Office, not a Person)

IMO, it seems a bit open-ended. Also, IMO, "aid and comfort" should be a consideration.

His agenda is to ruin this country and turn us into a socialist society

Barry is a Leninist...and yes, he's gonna disband Religious Freedoms 1st then the guns then our 1st Amendment Rights.

Ain't it funny (*not*) how this Admin uses "verbicide".

Calling us a Democracy...college grads all the way down to pre-schoolers are rammed with that one, singular message.

we'd better get a good grip very soon, folksingers, or we won't have anything to grip.

    We're not a Democracy - WE ARE A REPUBLIC..!

If it has NO affect (I take that to include positive AND negative) on me, then why should it become law in MY country?

If signed by the US, how long does the treaty have to pass the senate? It might not pass the Senate this year, but who knows what a future Senate might do.

It doesn't become law inside of your country because, as noted, it creates no laws inside of any country. It creates no new laws between countries, actually, as there are no enforcement mechanisms. Its more of a pledge to not sell small arms to nations declared rogue nations or sponsors of terrorism/piracy. Signers would agree to not sell small arms to Somalia, for example. Unlike actual war crimes, there's no enforcement mechanism for anyone who violates the pledge. There is also no penalty for withdrawing from the treaty, so if we decided we really wanted to sell M4s to Somalia, we could.

There is no time limit, but I don't think you'll see any Senate any time soon with a 2/3 majority willing to vote this in.

So he signs it and the Senate doesn't ratify it. He begins to comply with it right away, uses some Exec Orders if need be. What are you going to do about it? Sue him? Hahahaha.
This is the most corrupt administration during my life and maybe ever. Do you think he cares? Then we get eight years of Billary...

My point exactly. The Senate does not ratify it, but he complies with it, just like all the other myriad of unconstitutional actions that nobody calls him out on or takes any measures to stop him. As to your last sentence...

Now THAT is SCARY! No HillBilly 2016!

As noted, requires 2/3 of the Senate.

As not already noted, doesn't infringe on our gun rights in the slightest even if it passed. It creates NO NEW LAWS INSIDE OF A COUNTRY. IT HAS NO ENFORCEMENT MECHANISMS. ANY COUNTY CAN WITHDRAW AT ANY TIME. The sole purpose of the treaty is to ban sales and imports to rogue nations and state sponsors of pirates or terrorists. If you are a Somalian capturing ships off your coast, this might affect you. If you are a US gun owner, it has zero affect, both as written and because the Senate won't ratify it anyway.

The full text is available online, feel free to read it yourself.

Some of the other countries who signed it Britain and France. You know,so they could sell weapons to Syrian rebels(against the treaty as Russia pointed out today).lol
