Took the new to me P228 (1990 W. German) to the range this weekend (second trip)...Out of 150 rounds, remington, federal, and fiocchi, I had one light primer strike on a 124g truncated Fiocchi round...really weird as this is the first time this has EVER happened to me (in any gun). Anyways, I have roughly 300 rounds through it, with this being the only light strike...I came across a thread on here from 2012 about this with different ammo...I'm really leaning towards this being a fluke. I did the "bic pen test" (insert in barrel and shoot) thing launched out with vengeance! So The firing pin spring is still good.

Anyone have issues with fiocchi primers being "hard" or P228 light strikes? I find it very hard to believe that there is a problem with the Sig...after all it is a SIG ;) ;) ;) :rockwoot:

Chalk it up to being a fluke.

Load the round in a mag again - try it again. Bet it works.

In MY experience, Fiocchi 9mm has rather "soft" primers - it's S&B that's "hard".

(I had a goofy issue with one gun - it'd perforate Fiocchi primers, but not WWB or UMC)

Meant to say that in the original post, pulled the trigger and it fired. Then proceeded to fire 100 rounds no issues. Definitely think it's a non issue, just peculiar.

    :D W. German 228? Pics please!!

I don't think I've ever heard of SIG being accused of light strikes, but I'm not a SIG expert, either. I would just continue to rock n' roll with it. :)

By no means good sir, would I say I was accusing the SIG for this incident ;) Just a coincidence that it happened in that gun. I'll try to get some pics added later today as well!
