I am trying to find an affordable slide that's designed to work with a 6 foot tall platform. It seems like 5 foot is the cut off for the sub 200 dollar slides and that extra foot puts it into the 400 plus range... anybody have any tips on where I can find a cheaper slide that will work?

I'm betting you're facing liability issues with that extra foot or more. I know in industry, when a worker has to elevate himself to a level 6ft or greater above the ground, he has to wear fall protection PPE. I'm guessing there are analogous requirements to consumer products at those heights.

Get a 5 foot slide and add a ball pit at the bottom.

we bought a 5 foot slide from home depot, but in order to build up the bottom we would have to add about 18 inch's of fill..... Wont look to appealing.... after some research I think I am just going to buy the extra material to build a slightly lower platform for the slide to hook up to.

You could always raid a schoolyard late at night and heist their slide. Bring it home and paint it a different color and you're good to go!
