So I am confused and have the following questions concerning buying a 14.5" AR-15 barrel

If there is a concise link I can be forwarded too that would be great:yesway:

    1. I understand the barrel with flash hider must be 16" O.A.L., correct?
    2. The flash hider can be "pinned" or does it have to be welded?
    3. Do I have to do paper work to buy the 14.5" barrel without the hider or do I have to buy the 14.5 with the hider installed?

You are correct about requiring some muzzle device to get to that magic 16 inches. The muzzle device must be blind pinned and then the pin welded over, or the muzzle device can be welded to the barrel, or high temp silver soldered.

It is safer to buy the barrel with the hider already installed. That way you don't have to worry.

There is no paperwork to buy the barrel. Possessing it with a lower receiver can lead to "intent to construct" or something of that nature. If you do buy it alone, get it pinned right away and avoid the worry.

Also, Stag has them with the YHM Phantom installed in case you ever want to get a quick detach suppressor from them... Then again, several companies do that.
