Hey guys I have a price of brass that's been through alot and means alot to me however its really dirty. I washed it in soap and water then I rubbed it A TON with a green side of a sponge and that took alot odirt off however there was some parts the might of been crooded? I loomed it up online and they said to rub katchup on it and believe it or not it worked.but there's still some there.also any help in telling me how to get the brass to really shine. Rember that its only one casing so I don't wanna buy a big machine.

hit auto-zone/wall-mart/pep boys. and look for this stuff called Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. That a a little elbow greese will give it a mirror finish in minutes.

However, make sure to get all the mother's off when you are finished. Any polish residue left over will corrode in a few hours

Its funny how the littlest things carry the most meaning.

If it's got dark spots on it, you may have to use some fine (000) steel wool to clean it really well. It'll have a brushed look to it after that and then you can use the Mother's polish on it and it will smooth up and shine really well. Put a coat of car wax on it after that and it'll stay shiny for a long time to come.

Brasso and a soft rag. Once shined up shoot it with some clear lacquer and it will stay shiny for a long time.

    Drill

Electric drill, piece of dowel rod wrapped with some electrical tape to get a friction fit, use 0000 steel wool or cloth with your choice of polish.

Elect drill, Lee case holder and 0000 steel wool, let the drill do all the work. ;)

This^ I collect weird exotic ammo. I have cleaned up a bunch of it gently torqued down in the cordless drill. I use this stuff called "Never Dull". It will make a piece of brass look new in short order.

When I was in the Corps, we used Brasso on cardboard to grind flats on the front of buckles... It's pretty abrasive.
