My future father-in-law had one... traded it and complains about wanting it back all the time. Never got to shoot it, but it felt good in the hand. The mag release was just a terrible design IMO.

There has been quite a shift in mind-set on mag releases over the last 25 years. I assume a lot of that has to do with competition. I've used an H&K release for awhile and it is fairly quick while providing an added level of security. It's all what you practice with.

As a practical matter, if you run the weapon dry you are likely in over your head (civilian use).

Smith & Wesson 617 does it for me.

I carried a Sig P230 for a little over a year. It was a very sleek and easy to carry pistol. My gun was extremely accurate and functioned flawlessly. I'd carry one without any concerns.

Nothing more beautiful then a 70 Series Colt. This is my Bobtailed 70 Series loaded with Ed Brown Parts and wearing a set of VZ Grips. Also has the Ed Brown Exclusive Snake Skin treatment on the forestrap and mainspring housing.
