There is one specific reason why Yiddish will never die so long as there are living Jews: Hebrew does not contain swear words. While being introduced to a book entitled If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say, Say it in Yiddish, a friend of Jewish extraction explained to me that the foundation behind this comical title on a dictionary of harsh Yiddish phrases is the fact the Hebrew is devoid of swears.
