Just picked up an 870 wingmaster, and am running into a weird problem

I can't load shells in the magazine. When you try, it'll accept on up to the rim, then hang up there. With a superhuman effort you can force one in, sometimes, but not always.

As a test, we took off the mag cap and spring and loaded 2 rounds that way. After replacing all the parts, they cycled just fine.

    I have no idea what's going on....tips?

Check the shell stop at the rear of the tube.
It could be bent, or have crud behind it. :dunno:

I just took a look at mine and as Unclemike said that would be my recommendation as well, you can clean the magazine tube but it would take a lot of gunk to cause any issues in with that.

Yes, as UncleMike said, check the shell stops. They could be bent or have crap built-up behind them. Did you try checking them? Do you still have the problem?
