OK, I am considereing picking up a new USG PS90 with 5 new 50 round mags for $1197 or a FS2000 for $1399. They are both on sale from CDNN. Good prices. I don't know which one to get. Which one would you get and why???

    Hard choice....

I went with the PS90 for the cooler factor.. also what in the heck did I need yet another .223 for?

I really like FNH weapons and if it wasn't for the SCAR, I'd have a FS2000 on the wish list. I just need to wait until the price drops some for that however. I'm done buying traditional AR's.

Get both...maybe they will make a .223 pistol to match the FS 2000??? You also need the FiveSeven pistol...I have ps-90 and the pistol and boy are they fun!

Have you actually handled these rifles? If not I would definately hit the shops and check them out.

I had and sold a FS2K.... felt like a tuna under the arm and I preferred the AUG type (MSAR), better feel and alot more accurate too.

I've never shot either one, so I don't really know. I do know that .223 ammo is a lot more common, so that may sway the decision a little. See if you can find samples of both to shoot, and then decide after actually using them. I'm pretty sure Midwest has a P90 machinegun they rent, so they may also have the PS90..

    Out of these 2 choices...

PS90 Hands down. The FS2K is only cool if you are going to dress up like Someone from a Bad Sci-Fi movie like Starship Troopers...

If you are looking for a Bull-Pop in 5.56 Look at the Aug...

    PS90.

take it from a FS2000 owner.

the FS2000 is a *****, to clear a malfunction. you sometimes have to take off the upper portion of the rifle (which is not hard, but still takes time.) the fs2000 is also more bulky and WILL NOT accept Pmags. 2-cents.

there are much better rifles out there than both, but if you want these then its your flavor and I dont blame you. get whatever you want, but do research on them both. dont just buy on what looks cooler.

PS90. I've owned the FS2000 and it bugged me that it wouldn't accept PMAGS. The "problem" with the PS90 is the uncommon and somewhat more expensive ammunition. Handle, and if possible shoot both before purchasing if you can find a way to do so.

What role do you need to fill? Do you already have a 5.56 rifle? Other than being able to use a relatively long barrel in a short package I fail to see what the FS2000 can do that the AR can't, other than look like a spacegun. I already have a 5.56x45 AR so it would be hard for me to justify another 5.56x45 rifle, it seems the PS90 would make an outstanding close-quarters weapon. If it were me, since I already have an AR, I'd go with the PS90. But, every situation is different. Good luck.

I have the FS2000 and would recommend it over the PS 90 just due to the fact that you can get 5.56 ammo anywhere, it has more stopping power and I shoot mine out to 500 yards with the Trijicon ACOG 4x32 attached. I got rid of the factory optic and shroud and installed the ACOG. I also have the FiveSeven pistol, but never had much desire to get the PS90.

The only function problem I ever had was my fault. I was resting the fore-end against a bag and prevented the dust cover from opening to expel the 5 empty cases in the tube. I was able to clear the spent rounds easily and never had any other problems.

With the ACOG, I have good optics with the built in BDC reticle, or for fast acquisition, I can use the Docter red dot.

IMHO, I would go with the FS2000.
