I have a question about the Hornandy LNL progressive. If you have one complete and operational say for .45acp (large primer). If you want to switch over and load .40 S&W(small primer), what would you have to change, how much time would it take to change the parts, and about what would the parts cost retail? After you change the parts, do you have to readjust everything?

The change over would be dies, primer tube, primer transer bar, and primer seater. The only cost would be the dies and shell plate as the large and small primer parts come with the press. Over all change over time would be less that five minutes. You would need to reset the powder measure to the proper drop weight, but that is only a minute or two. After the first changer over the machine should not need any adjustment unless you change bullet shape/type from the previous reloading session.

    Shell plates run around $30

If you are going to be going back and forth between pistol cartridges and always use the same load you can buy additional powder measure adjustment bars for around $30 each. Keep one preset with each die set and all you have to do to change charges then is push a button and swap adjustment bars.
