Questions about Deer Reduction Zones. If the DNR website shows an entire county as a reduction zone, does that mean one can hunt for deer within a 1/2 mile of a road as long as its on non-federal property and they have permission from the property owner and don't shoot or chase a deer across a public road? And also, how should one account for local laws? For example, if one lived within, say Gary, IN, can one hunt deer along any road as long as they're within 1/2 mile of the road, licensed, and have permission from the owner?

    Any input will be appreciated.

    Welcome to INGO.
Local laws on firearms and hunting dictate where you can hunt. In town limits? Check city codes. It's highly doubtful. May be bow only. Could be no hunting at all. If it's Gary, it might be Highpoint pistols only..........

A good portion of Tippecanoe County is designated as a deer reduction zone.

Due to local ordinances, almost none of it is legal to hunt, with gun or bow.

Kinda like the .gov wanting you to shell out for a EV and kill petroleum producers and then taxing you more when you license it because you don't buy gas and pay the road tax...

The contradictory rules in Tippecanoe County are ridiculous. It’s almost as if the government wants to set you up for a violation. DNR should be responsible for setting the record straight as they are supposedly responsible for wildlife regulation. :dunno:

Respectfully, which county rules are contradictory? The state makes state law, the county makes county law.

Now they may not be the same but the laws are what they are. Just trying to understand. Again respectfully.
