I'm not a serious knife guy, so hopefully some of you can point me in the right direction. I have a fixed blade Buck knife that only came with a cardboard sheath and I'm not impressed with the basic leather sheath that Buck offers. I carry a folder and don't really want to carry this new one on a regular basis. However, I would like to keep it in my go bag and would like a better sheath. Are there 3rd party producers of sheathes or should I look into doing my own kydex work? One factor is that I don't expect to be doing additional kydex work so needing any specialized tools might justify simply buying retail. Thanks.

If you are interested in custom leather, I might be able to help you out.

    PM me if you are.

Spec Ops makes some pretty nice generic sheaths for under $ 50 and you can fit the kydex liner.
Have you contacted Buck for a sheath?
If it was me I'd have a leather sheath made. I think Bucks look better with leather.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll be checking them out.

This is the only option Buck offers: no belt loop or retention strap.

Maybe I am mistaken, and you can't see it on the picture from that angle, but I think there is a belt loop built into the back side of that sheath.

I bought a sheath for my Swamp Rat Rodent 6.
Rodent 6 - Swamp Rat Knife Works Store

I used the existing grommets to install a Blade-Tech Tek Lok.

It rode a little too high on my belt so I added a "Universal Extension".

It works great now on my belt or on my backpack.
