I always thought he was better than hogan. His bouts with George the animal Steele and Ricky Steamboat were the things of legend. Epic, Golden age of the WWF

*Whispers* None of it was real...except maybe when Randy Macho Man Savage crushed Ricky The Dragon Steamboat's throat against the railing.

Was he better at taking steroids and making faces like he was constipated? Was he better looking in tights?

PS. Ricky the Dragon Steamboat's first wrestling name was Dick Blood.

he was, Hogan was just a more popular character and larger than life in size and personality. It was an age when large physique won out (hence Savage's apparent Steroid use during the end of his career, also when he finally won his first world title). This was why NWA/WCW was always my favorite. Ric Flair will always be the greatest. Flair vs. Savage were ridiculously good matches also.

Many years ago Randy was on a Ft. Wayne radio station promoting the WWF that was coming to town. He had a great sense of humor and did the usual WWF smack talk but when people would call in and talk to him he was very respectful and gracious. He was especially kind to the kids.
