I posted an add a while back wanting to pick up a derringer and posted a price range for it.........well here it is forever later and I receive a text asking if I'm still interested in one (by this time I already acquired one) but decided to see what they had just in case it was something worth while. I receive a few pictures, and the caliber, but no make model or price. When I ask about the price they reply with "Make and offer":xmad:.....Not sure if it's just me, but if someone contacts me wanting to sell something, I think that they should approach with a price. If I wanted to play the guessing and haggle game I'd go seek out someone who has a make an offer sign posted on the price tag. :dunno:

NOTE TO MODS: had no idea where to post this, but we really need a rant board.

So you already have one, but the guy sees your old ad saying you want one. I assume it still shows up as an open ad. You then decided to try to get a deal? Now after you wasted his time, you're upset because he's wasting your time?

    Am I reading this right?

    i dont think you are.

the OP didn't waste the guy's time; he wanted to know how much. it seems silly to me that someone would take the time to respond to an old WTB ad and not have a price in mind for what he potentially has for sale. If someone did that to me, I'd say $10.

I started off reading this the same as you. Then I had to think what if the OP left the ad open to see what may pop up. Then he could just sell the first. :twocents:

Is it this thread? Would you like it closed? How did he get your number to send you a text?

I did inform him that I already had one after his first contact before we proceeded any further, but would consider getting another depending on what he was offering. What I'm upset about is the fact that he contacted me, not the other way around and wouldn't give me a price.
