Sharpshooter
I had a .40 S&W Kel-Tec Sub2k and I always ran factory ammo or the same 180gr cast over 4 gr titegroup that I ran in my pistol. I am not one to experiment with the narrow margin of safety on the .40. The Sub2k was my last .40 weapon as I am consolidating back to just 9mm and I just traded for a G17 9mm version.
so my question is, has anyone played with the 9mm to optimize it for the 16" barrel? Someone over on the KTOG forums was using trailboss, longshot, and blue dot to get a slower burn rate in the longer barrel. With a 90grain bullet, was pushing over 2000 fps!
Also bullet selection: stick with FMJ or is there a 9mm hollowpoint that can handle the increased velocities? I have also thought about casting my own hollowpoints and powder coating them. Any experience in how this will expand? Or will it just explode on impact and have no penetration?
