I was wondering if there was a limit to the amount of shells allowed in the magazine when hunting? and I mean hunt anything. I plan on mostly hunting deer but could end up out in the bean field after some geese. I think i might have thrown it away my plastic piece that shortens my magazine tube.

my old Ranger is a water fowl gun and it will only hold 3 rounds, with one in the chamber. Still fun to shoot!

You need the plastic piece for migratory birds.

Replacements are not hard to find, but in a pinch you can cut a piece of 1/2 inch wood dowel to use in is place.
You need it for migratory birds including dove.
