Remington 597 VTR

Since the search feature doesn't like three letter/number searches, i'm not having any luck with it.

How many people here have a 597 VTR or have shot one?? Can i get some input??

Other online searches gave me a few reviews, they seem kinda mixed, but alot were from months or years ago. The bad reviews seem to revolve around mag issues......???

I just liked the looks and/or price of them

I have no experience with the VTR. The 597 I did own at one time ran flawless though. There where problems with the gen. 1 and 2 magazines. The gen. 3's I have had no issues with. The 30 round mags would not function for crap.

Are these things too new for anyone to have used them yet??

My 597 shoots great, but it had to go thur a break-in period, also the METAL REMINGTON MAGAZINE I bought jams.

My 597 runs good but every rem brand mag I had sucked. I got three by shooters ridge and with a little sanding on the inside of the feed lips they run great one round short of full.

I'll be watching this thread, I too want one but want some reassurance before I buy one. I love the look and feel, but have not gotten to shoot one yet.
