Reversing the safety on an Ithaca 37?

Can that be done?


I gave my grandson my Ithaca Model 37 DeerSlayer II but he is left handed. It is a bottom eject so left or right handed doesn't matter, but I'd like for him to have a left handed safety if possible.


If it can be done does a gun smith have to do it or can I do it?

I'm right handed but became left eye dominant.
