Rossi not producing?

I've been trying to get a 357 lever for 5 months from a shop. He was told by Rossi that they're having trouble producing guns to meet the demand based on the high cost of materials in Brazil. I wanted to know if anyone else has been experiencing this same problem. I tend to believe it, as I can't really find them anywhere. Last summer I found them everywhere, but it would figure, as soon as I plunk down the cash for one, it goes on backorder something fierce.

The .357 models are out of stock everywhere, but I don't believe the "not producing" story, as the .44Mag and .45LC lever-actions are plentiful, as are their revolvers and Circuit Judges. Besides, Rossi doesn't "produce" anything, really; they are just a sub-brand of Taurus International Manufacturing.

Try calling here... but be ready for some sticker shock, the little Rossies aren't as cheap as they once were, saw a NIB stainless 357 20" carbine in 357 here( earlier this week) but it was just over $400! These folks will ship no problem but if you can make it down to their shop it's a sight to behold. Looks like an old feed store but they have plenty of guns in stock. The variety of which is pretty amazing. Take a minute to look over their used gun listings too,( second link below) this changes several times daily.
