I would like to tap into the accumulated wisdom of the board. I have a S&W nickel 459. I bought it while looking for a 5906. Now, of course, I found a 5906. The 459 shoots fine. Both are heavy. Both are double stack and come with extra magazines. I am torn and need the opinions of those with knowledge of both platforms. The money is a wash, I wouldn't gain or lose any substantial amount either way. I appreciate any insight I can get.

I've had both, the 5906 is the better gun, cause the front site is dovetail in the slide, there is no barrel bushing. Stainless steel is better than nickle finish, nickle will flake if you get solvent on it, & you can't touch it up, if you damage the finish.

One is like holding a pistol (5906) one is like holding a 2x4 (459), which grip do you prefer? The top ends are about equal. IMHO
