I need some input from anyone who owns or has shot a Springfield Armory Scout Squad rifle. I am contemplating purchasing one in the near future and just want to know how much difference (if any) there is between it and a standard M1A. When I say difference I know length. But how about recoil, accuracy or anything else/differences anyone can think of or is aware of? Would it be worth it to have a M1A and a Scout Squad? What would it gain me?I just want both for plinking and eventually shooting at Perry in the NRA/SA M1A matches at which I can use ANY SA rifle.Thoughts ??...Thanks.:dunno:

I have the Scout Squad, but haven't shot the standard model enough to compare. From what I have read, you don't lose accuracy going down to the 18" barrel. They are a little louder. The felt recoil may be slightly more.

If you want to meet at Winamac sometime, you can shoot mine and compare it to yours.
