I have a friend who had a pretty good portion of his stock of steel cased 5.56 draw moisture and develop spots of light surface rust (as described--I haven't seen it myself) Provided that this description is accurate, my thought is to knock the worst of the rust off and anticipate some stoppages in his AR. I would, however, appreciate the thoughts of anyone who has encountered this problem.

Was given some 7.62 X 39 that was rusted. Lightly cleaned and shot them up. Had a session with sons and grandson. Roughly 800 rounds and had 2 or 3 fail to fire. The Russians seem to know what they are doing ammo-wise.
