IMO 22-250 is more than you will need nearly anywhere in Indiana. I would consider a .223 since it is the same caliber, but a little less bang. with a 22-250 you could end up sending rounds much further down range than necessary/safe. The .223 will also not make as much noise, which could possibly give you a better chance at a second shot. Would also be easier to obtain a suppressor for if you chose to go that route later.
Ammo will also be cheaper for the .223, which will help keep the cost down while you keep your skills up. $18+ VS $6+
After yotes have been called in and shot at a few times they will start hanging up outside of shotgun and small rifle range. The 22-250 shoots real flat and carries nicely out to 400 yards making long range a little bit easier to contain a yote chest shot.
I just use a 222 rem. the 223 is also good but sooner or later you will want/need the extra range. 22-250 will be a potential barrel burner over time they always have been. Lots of powder going down a little whole.
The 22-250 is a great cartridge, but I would look for a more sporter weight gun for hunting coyotes. The 112 BVASS is a nice gun but it's heavy. If you already have it though run it.
I statred with that exact rifle and cartrige. I loved the set-up but the weight was a little more than i wanted when i added the bipod and scope. I sold it to buy a lighter rig in .243, but wish i never would have sold it.
I''d still pick the .243 over the 22-250, but the gun was a tack driver!
