Was wondering if anyone has one of these new Savage Renegauge shotguns, and how good they are. Supposed to run high brass and low brass without any problems.

Reason I ask is my lgs has one $1100 out the door. I currently do not own a shotgun and I'm thinking about adding one to my collection. They look and feel great ergonomics wise.

That's a good price for it but I haven't had a chance to handle one yet.

For $100 more i can get an Benelli M2 which is a proven shotgun. No one seems to know anything about the Savage yet. For that price I think Benelli would get my money.

Got an email back from Savage they said no known mag tube extension will work with it. That is a huge turn off for me.

I'd take a Beretta 1301 over the Benelli... And over all other comers in the semi-auto market, honestly.

All things being equal to the two Italian Stallions mentioned above - the softer feeling recoil system of the 1301 gets the nod over the inertia-driven system of the Benelli.

So, if you say you can get a Benelli for $1200 - I say go for it. And you can also probably get a 1301 in that same price range, too. Both are highly proven designs vs. the newcomer.

Me too. Aftermarket might catch up at some point. Accessories are kind of a big deal.
