The thread below,"Have you ever been to a meager gun show?",
got me to thinking. They are usually called shows, not sales.
I do not go to dog or art shows with the expectation that
everything is for sale. I don't go to gun shows only to purchase.

One of my best experiences was at a Shipshewana show seeing
a guy's assortment of S&W Victory revolvers. He told me about
them, let me hold them, ask dumb questions. Altogether a fine
exhibition and I learned a lot. I did not check bites.

Anybody else have gun seeing stories to tell?

    Thanks

    Mark

    Sure do.

We go to gun "shows" to look, fondle and BUY. This is not a dog show or anything else. Why spend time and money to walk around a lot of rude people who stink? Because we are scouting for a deal that we may end up purchasing.

The term gun show is misleading. That is all.

My grandpa told me stories of Gun Shows before he died. Apparently they started when gun makers used to travel around the US to show people there products in order to make them want to buy them. He tells me that live demonstrations were not uncommon at all. So at one point they were "shows".
