I did an inventory of my firearms and I could not find the serial numbers on two of them. A Savage Stevens 820B and a Benelli Nova. I was wondering if these guns even have serial numders or if I just did not look hard enough. :dunno:

All firearms made after 1968 must have serial numbers, but you might find earlier ones just because the manufacturers wanted to keep track of production.

    Look harder! :D

Yes, any firearm sold in the US has to meet our rules, which is why so many people complain about the parts count rule on imported rifles and shotguns.

If the Stevens was made in or around 1950 it is very possible it does not have a serial number.
