That's a good question. Technically it is considered a firearm by the ATF so I suppose that technically shipping it to anyone but an FFL would be illegal.

Don't quote me on that, but you may want to play it safe.

Since the lower receiver can be used in the construction of a Handgun, it will have the same restrictions as any handgun, therefore cannot be shipped to an individual. It must be shipped to an FFL holder.

If somebody can find the statute, please provide a link.

I thought it was legal to ship a long gun instate. Never done it, but always heard it was legal.

You can ship in state to another Indiana resident who is not a prohibited person. Usps is fine for non handguns. Fedex or Ups for handguns. This comes up pretty often. Look at the ATF FAQ's it's on there.

Google ATF FAQ. It's numbers 7 and 8

It's illegal unless your sending it to an FFL.
Weren't you trying to get your FFL01? You'd think you would know the law! :n00b:

Well, it kind of matters how it was originally designated. Either way, you're wrong - You can ship it direct to a resident of your state. The only difference is how you ship it - USPS or UPS/FedEx.

    EDIT:
Here's the right answer and a link.
