It looks like the combo pair has a regular 28in shotgun barrel with it.

The turkey/deer one has a 3.5 inch chamber, choke tubes and a shorter length.

So, you can hunt with either one. I've never tried shooting slugs out of a 28inch barrel, I don't know what the results would be?? I've turkey hunted with a 28inch barrel and it worked fine.

turkey barrels are usually short smoothbore barrels with a tight screw-in choke. meant to keep shot pellets concentrated. deer barrels are short, usually rifled nowadays, with no choke tubes. meant to help spin a saboted slug for stability. if you use old style foster slugs with an open choke, you will do alright out to about 50 yds with a 28 in. barrel. turkey hunting would be possible with the long barrel, just not as manuverable (sp.?) as a short barrel.
